Textile products Export fall in February-2019 Compare as February- 2018
Similarly, jute manufacturing (including floor covering) reported a decline of 9.99% to $23.00 million as compared to $26.00 million in February 2018. Except the cotton yarn/fabrics/made-ups/hand-loom products category, all the other categories under the textile segment reported a decline in exports in February.
Man-made yarn/fabrics/made-ups category has reported a decline of 1.99% in the month to $388.00 million, compared with $398.00 million in the year-ago period. Similarly, jute manufacturing (including floor covering) reported a decline of 9.99% to $23.00 million as compared to $26.00 million in February 2018.
The carpet and handicraft categories reported a decline of 2.99% each to $111.00 million ($114 million) and $151.00 million ($156 million), respectively, in exports during the month, said the Confederation of Indian Textile Industry. Exports of the apparel segment, however, grew 7.00% during the month to $1.543 billion, compared with $1.44 billion in February 2018.
Following this, textiles and apparel exports in February saw a growth of 2.99% to $3.094 billion, against $2.992 billion in February 2018. Cumulatively (April-February 2019), except the jute category, all the other categories under textile segment grew marginally.
